My name is Specialist Arcangel. I'm a soldier in the U.S. Army 3rd Infantry Division and this is my weblog. I created this blog to keep friends and family updated on things I'm doing in Iraq. Operation Iraqi Freedom Part 3 told by me. NOTE: Because of Operational Security(OPSEC), I will not post images of my communications equipment, give details about my job, show images of security check points, or give in depth descriptions of certain incidents or events.

Welcome to Baghdad International

Landing in Baghdad International early this morning 5AM here which is 9pm EST. Flew in on a C-130. It's what the military uses to transport paratroopers and cargo. The flight was pretty loud but I managed to sleep during most of it. The decent is a little rough. You fall 30,000 feet in 3 minutes. In a commerical airline it takes a good 10 minutes.

The current temperature here in Baghdad is in the low to mid 40's. It rained last night and now all the sand has turned into mud. Its rather annoying.
It looks like a different world here in Baghdad from Kuwait. You can definatly tell Baghdad International went through a war because it looks pretty beat up. I imagine it was very nice at one time.

I'm pretty tired from lugging all my bags and gear here and there. I'll post again when I get to Taji which is my destination. Forgot to mention I'm at Camp Stryker right now. They keep us here before for a bit before they take us to Taji. It's right next to the airport.
